When considering your choice of groomer, it reassuring to see the environment your dog will be spending time in, as the salon will become a big part of their life.
The ‘Hut’ is a summerhouse based in my own peaceful garden and has the following features:-
Fully Air Conditioned, Ventilated, Heated & Insulated
Ample amounts natural daylight
No holding cages or cage dryers
Electric table and bath - Enabling all dogs to hop on and enter at their own free will
Fresh drinking water available at all times and also lots of treats
Each individual groom and the treatment within them is tailored to suit each dogs in particular needs, with this taken into consideration all or a selection of the following will be included in a groom:-
Health Check
Brush Out
Bath – 2 x Shampoos, Conditioner & Tear Free Face Wash. I am also happy to use owners own supplied veterinary prescribed shampoo should this be the case for your dog.
Hand Blow Dry – Using either one or a combination of the following, hand dryer, stand dryer & high velocity dryer
De-Shed (Undercoat Removal)
Clipping
Scissoring – Styling of furnishings(feathers), face, paw & feet tidy
Ear Cleaning
Nail Clipping
Spritz of perfume/cologne
Puppies are welcome in the ‘Hut’ one week following their second vaccination. The sooner they start to experience salon life and build positive experiences the better.
Puppy sessions begin with regular small sessions of approximately one hour each, slowly introducing the sounds and sensations of the salon environment and grooming experience. On each visit introductions to equipment relevant to the particular puppies grooming needs as an adult dog will be increased until we achieve a point when the puppy is accepting and ready for the full grooming procedure. This coupled with lots of playtime and treats along the way will make grooming life a happy one for your puppy.
As always, I will only work within what each puppy can manage and therefore some may need shorter more regular sessions than others until they feel comfortable and happy with what happens in the ‘Hut’.
As well as the usual full grooming experience available I understand that not all adult dogs cope with the salon, for a variety of reasons, therefore introductory sessions, similar to the puppy experiences explained above are available for all adult dogs too, should they require them. Please feel free to ask.
With no two dogs being alike even if they are the same breed, they all vary in size, condition, age and temperament. Owners also have specific different needs for the type of grooms they require. Therefore prices will depend on all of these factors.

Due to the rules of the Veterinary Surgeons Act laid down by The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Regulations, the following procedures will not be carried out on any groom, they are now deemed to be an invasive procedure and therefore must only be carried out by a qualified vet or veterinary nurse and are not covered by my insurers.

In accordance with the 2006 Animal Welfare Act, which states that it is an offence to cause animals pain or discomfort, Mutts In The Hut will not under any circumstances carry out the painful de-matt of a matted dog. Any dog being presented in a matted condition will be subject to our Shave/Close Clipping Policy.
