Mutts In The Hut not only has the skills to produce beautiful grooms for your furry family member but appreciates that every dog is different and therefore should be treated as an individual. Every dog in my care is, and always will be, treated with care, understanding, compassion and respect.
I recognise that although very necessary for a number of breeds of dogs, not all enjoy the whole grooming process and can find it quite invasive. Some struggle with certain aspects such as dryers, clippers, table height etc. Therefore, I will always work within the limits of what each dog is happy and able to cope with enabling me to providing a positive caring grooming experience for all.
Elderly and very young dogs require more time, thought, extra breaks and patience and that’s exactly what Mutts In The Hut have to offer. Each and every dog will always be catered and cared for as you the owner would yourselves.
Hi, I’m Kate, I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have dog’s in my life, either as a pet, sharing a hobby or working professionally with them. When I was 10 years old my parents finally gave in to my years of constant pestering and allowed me to have a dog to call my own, a toy poodle, which I was lucky enough to share 17 years with.
As an adult, as soon as I was living in my own home, I missed sharing my life with a dog, so 3 weeks after moving in I decided to give a rescue dog a home. This dog lead me into the world of competitive obedience, where I spent many happy years training, competing, judging, teaching and also collecting more wonderful dogs along the way to share my obedience journey and my home with.
Whilst raising my own family, my hobby faded into the background, but the dogs I had still remained as an important part of our family life, with us all enjoying the outdoor life together.
As my children grew and became more independent of me the time came to get back to what I loved which was spending time with dogs. I set up my own local dog walking business which over six years enabled me to enjoy and spend time with many different characters and varieties of all my customers dogs. During this period I expanded my understanding and knowledge of dogs by undertaking a 18 month practical and theory study in a dog behaviour & communication.
My love for working and being with dogs in all capacities encouraged me explore, train and qualify in professional dog grooming. Which is where I am now, working with dogs 1-2-1 on a daily basis, within my own beautiful tranquil salon, I couldn’t be happier.
